Looking for some Real World Experience?

The VPT Lab is continuously receiving correspondence from agencies looking for help. Some of these offers turn into research projects where we employ students to become part of the VPT Lab team. If you are interested in working up to 20 hours a week doing research, please leave your resume with the Director, Dr. Esnard (HEC 610B).

How to log-on to computers in HEC 613

FAU Students and teachers can log-on using an active Network Access Account user name and password. Note: this is not the same as your MyFAU or Blackboard accounts (although you can change all the passwords to match). If you haven't already gone through the process of activating your Network Access Account, you can do so by visiting this link: http://www.accounts.fau.edu/ad.htm

The 6th floor now has WIFI

Anywhere on the HEC 6th floor (including the HEC 613 computer lab) students with an active Network Access Account can now wirelessly connect to the FAU network and to the internet with an IEEE 802.11b compatible laptop or PDA. How to Print in HEC 613

The HP ColorPro CAD is a hand-me-down printer from the VPT Lab and is not up to today's standards. However, it can print free color copies (provided that you supply the paper) up to 11x17 in size. Its low resolution print-outs are best for line drawling only. Use this printer to create a draft of your map. Make sure that's it is on and that there is paper in the tray before printing.

Large Scanner and Printer arrives in FAU Computer Lab

FAU students and faculty can scan up to 11x17" sheets for free using the HEC611 computer lab's new Epson 1640XL scanner. Also newly arrived is a professional HP5500 Plotter which is hooked up for plotting poster size images using your owl card. Printing costs begin at only $5 for a 2x3 foot poster on satin finished paper.
