In addition to developing base maps that display the counties in their state and regional contexts, we are creating the following map sets:
Study Area consists of the coastal portions of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, where coastal portion is defined as the coastal counties and the counties immediately inland of them - that is, an area two counties "deep."
County Guides defines each county in the study area by their county code. In some cases, we have grouped some of the states in our study area as follows:
- Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina
- Florida
- Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama
- Texas
Basemaps includes samples of maps of individual indicators and sub-indicators. Data will be input and mapped as they become available.
Index Maps includes results of the Displacement Index currentlyunder development. Comparative maps will also be created– e.g., displacement potential across housing tenure, population variables (race/ethnicity in particular), and other socioeconomic variables.
